Weed management in modern agriculture requires efficient weed control technologies that are safe for the crop. Cloquintocet-mexyl is used as a herbicide safener in combination with grass-active herbicides mostly along with the herbicide clodinafop-propargyl to mitigate the herbicide’s toxicity for selective control of annual grasses in small grain cereals. It improves cereal crop tolerance to the herbicide by accelerating the detoxication process of Clodinafop-propargyl in cereals. It acts at multiple sites of herbicide metabolism and detoxication pathways in plants by enhancing oxidative reactions, glucose conjugation, glutathione conjugation, and glutathione biosynthesis. It is a colorless crystal. It is used to annual grasses like Lolium spp., Phalaris spp., Setaria spp. It provides an enabling technology which together with strong herbicide molecules has helped farmers to optimize their crop productivity through improved weed management.

cloquintocet

Purity:
Cloquintocet-mexyl content, percent by mass: 96% (w/w) minimum.

Compatibility:
Cloquintocet-mexyl, always in combination with herbicide Clodinafop-propargyl.

Shelf-life:
Two years under normal storage conditions.

Toxicity:
It is hydrolyzed to the free acid as the major metabolite. In-plant also it gets rapidly degraded to the free acid as the major metabolite. Cloquintocet-mexyl and its metabolites have low soil mobility, are strongly absorbed to the soil, and have low leaching potential. It is non-toxic for Birds. It is non-toxic for aquatic animals like shes. It is toxic for Daphnia. It is non-toxic for Bees.
