Description:

Carbofuran is a systemic, broad spectrum N-methyl carbamate insecticide and nematicide registered for control of soil and foliar pests on a variety of field, fruit, and vegetable crops. It works as a cholinesterase inhibitor with a predominantly contact and stomach action.

Toxicity:
Mammalian toxicity: WHO (a.i.) I, Highly Hazardous. b) Environmental toxicity: In animals carbofuran is metabolized by hydrolytic and oxidative mechanisms. In plants it is quickly metabolized into 3-hydroxycarbofuran and ketocarbofuran. It is very highly toxic to birds on an acute basis, and highly toxic on a sub-acute basis. It is highly toxic to mammals on an acute basis. It is very highly toxic to freshwater and estuarine/marine fish on an acute basis. It is toxic to bees as well.

Shelf Life::
Two years under normal storage conditions.
